On June 17, 2010, Compu-Stor’s Director, Jeremy Manford took part in the inaugural CEO Vinnies Sleepout. Unsure of what to expect from the night, he raised $2,820.
Every year since he has taken part, now knowing to expect a night of cold uncomfortableness and very little sleep, getting an appreciation of what homeless people in Australia experience each night. Each year he had doubled, tripled, quadrupled the amount raised for the charity. Over the years, Jeremy has raised over $45,000 to provide support programs, beds and hot meals for homeless people through the good works of St Vincent de Paul. Joining with so many others to raise money is exceptional to see, no matter how much has been raised.
Never missing a year, this June, Jeremy will take part in his 9th CEO Sleepout. Here he talks about what raising money for Vinnies CEO Sleepout means to him.
“Being able to see a over the years the difference being made is the greatest feeling. It’s been a real eye opener. Taking part in the CEO SleepOut since it started has been very rewarding,” says Jeremy. “I hope that by raising awareness of homelessness, people will be inspired to stop and think for one moment about what would it be like to spend a night on the streets.”
At Compu-Stor, we also felt there was another opportunity to give back to the community. Every year we as a business donate a percentage of every box sold so we can help provide badly needed funding to the St Vincent De Paul Society. This in turn will assist the communities in which we operate.”

Vinnies provides counselling, education, health and employment services to help people to lift themselves out of the cycle of poverty.
